Mr. Razak Dawood, Rector LUMS and Chairman DESCOM Group visited SBKWU on July 22, 2005. On arrival, the senior administrative staff of the university received him at the main reception area. Then, he was taken to the Audio Visual Room for a brief presentation about the university and its five years plan.

After presentation, he was provided a tour of newly established V.C Secretariat, Administrative block and Accounts Section. He visited different departments of academic block, Grapevine Café—tea was served there, museum and laboratories of Botany and Zoology departments. He walked through the newly furnished and decorated Bulbul Reading halls, Chemistry department and its new laboratory; Finishing School, the Oasis of Roses. He was shown the Model home, the Rose Cottage and the Hani Beauty Saloon.

Mr. Dawood was very impressed with progress that the university has made within the short span of time. He commended the V.C and her dedicated team for their efforts and gave the following remarks in the Visitors Book:

“ What a great investment this university has been, and gives hope for our future generations. I am delighted to see this facility and I am very sure it will go a long way in developing women of this province. I wish to congratulate Dr. Shahida Jaffrey and her team for an excellent start. This young university has great challenges ahead of it and I am sure they will be met under the current dynamic leadership. Greatest fulfillment in life is to leave a dynamic institution which will go on for generations after we are all gone. Congratulations once again ”.
