Department of Mathematics


Mathematics Department is located on the second floor of the faculty of Basic Sciences. Mathematics department in SBKWU Quetta is very active. It comprises original investigations, discussions, lectures, and teaching at many levels. We are deeply committed to superior research in mathematics and the scientific excellence of our faculty is well recognized in the mathematical community.

Mission


SBK Women's university first time introduced Master in Mathematics in 2004 and BS program in 2006.
The mission is to break boundaries of research within mathematics and prepare highly qualified Mathematics researchers, skilled with modern techniques of research, application of new ideas and most importantly to promote multidisciplinary research which is highly demanded across the world these days.

We intend for mathematics majors to acquire a broad and solid base in mathematics enabling both further study and application.
We aim to provide an outstanding undergraduate environment of courses and opportunities.
To promote and support a comprehensive, innovative and dynamic learning environment that meets the changing needs of a diverse global student population.

  • Rise the worth and power of mathematics Mend endurance and persistence when solving problems
  • Recognize and be able to use the language, symbols and notation of mathematics
  • Ripen abstract, logical and critical thinking and the ability to reflect critically upon their work.
  • Know and validate accepting of the concepts from the branches of mathematics
  • Use applicable mathematical concepts and skills to solve problems in both familiar and unfamiliar situations.
  • Choose and apply general rules correctly to solve problems including those in real-life contexts.

Program Duration Eligibility Criteria
BSFour(4) YearsStudents of FSc (Pre-Engineering) or A level with Mathematics and securing at least 60% marks or equivalent are eligible.
M.Sc. Two Years Students of B.Sc with Mathematics securing at least 60% marks or equivalent are eligible
M.PHIL Two Years Students of B.Sc with Mathematics securing at least 60% marks or equivalent are eligible
Ph.D Two Years Students of M.PHIL with Mathematics securing at least 60% marks or equivalent are eligible
