The Graduate Studies Office (GSO) at SBK Women’s University serves as a central body for advancing postgraduate education and research. The GSO is entrusted with the formulation of academic policies, assurance of research quality, facilitation of curricular development, and monitoring of postgraduate student progress. It further regulates and coordinates admissions, synopsis submissions, research activities, thesis evaluations, and defenses for M.Phil. and Ph.D. programs, thereby ensuring academic rigor and institutional excellence. GSO is dedicated to promote impactful research aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a particular focus on addressing regional and national challenges.

Admission Procedure

  • ELIGIBILTY FOR M.Phil. PROGRAM (i) A candidate seeking admission in M.Phil. degree programs in a subject must possess sixteen years of Education or 4 years BS (minimum 120 credit hours) or equivalent program or Master degree in the subject / related field from any recognized University /Institution with a minimum 50 % marks in annual system or CGPA 2.5 out of 4 in semester system. (ii). Valid GAT (General)/ GRE / HAT test with a minimum 50 score will be necessary for admission in M.Phil., and is a pre-requisite as per HEC rules.
  • ELIGIBILTY FOR Ph.D. PROGRAM (i) Candidate must possess HEC recognized M.Phil./MS or equivalent Degree with minimum of 30 credit hours (24 credit hours graduate level courses + 6 credit hours thesis) in the relevant field with 1st division or equivalent grade or CGPA 3 out of 4 in semester system is the pre-requisite as per HEC rules. (ii). Valid GAT (Subject) / GRE  test with a minimum 60 score will be necessary for admission to Ph.D.

How to Apply

  • Admissions for Ph.D. and M.Phil. programs are usually announced at the beginning of the year (January–February).
  • Application forms will be available online only at sbkwu.edu.pk for registration and downloading.
  • The completed forms can be submitted to the Graduate Studies Office (GSO), SBKWU during official office hours.
  • Admission processing fee Rs. 3000/- (Non-refundable) is payable through Bank Challan, at HBL-SBKWU branch, Brewery Road Quetta.

Guidelines for Form Submission

  • Attested photocopies of all educational certificates (Matric, Intermediate, Bachelor, Master or MS/M.Phil./Ph.D.), Detailed Marks Certificates (Matric, Intermediate, Bachelor, Master or MS/M.Phil./Ph.D.), recent photographs, Original Bank Challan, NoC (in case of Govt. Servant), Form-B, Local/ Domicile Certificate,  CNIC, character certificate issued by last attended institution. (2 copies of all certificates should be submitted)
  • Valid NTS (GAT) and HEC (HAT) are acceptable
  • Migration certificate must be provided.
